外国語の勉強はもう1人の自分を見つける旅（日英note）

サウナの中にいると思ったら、ただの日本の夏でした。

I felt like I was in sauna but I just was in summer in Japan.

スーパーによると、ついアイスクリーム売り場に近づいてしまうゆーいちです。

When I go shopping to supermarket, I found myself seeing ice-cream.

さて、今日の話題は「外国語の勉強はもう1人の自分を見つける旅」というテーマで書きます。言語の学習で立ち止まった時に、モチベーションアップにつながれば幸いです。

わたしは2014年にタイに行ってから、外国語を使うことが日常となっているのですが、使っている言語によって全く気持ちが違います。
I usually use foreign language since I went to Thailand in 2014 and I found that my feelings changed depending on what language I speak. 

日本語で話している時は、「丁寧に」「わかりやすく」「伝わるように」お辞儀をしながら、

英語で話している時は、「楽しく」「大胆に」「面白く」オーバーアクションで

タイ語を話している時は、「ゆったり」「冗談っぽく」「明るく」笑顔で話すことを意識しています。
When I speak in Japanese, I try to be polie, understandable and easy to express with bowing. 

When I speak in English, I try to be joyful, boldly and funny with extravagant gestures. 

When I speak in Thai, I try to be slow,  in a humorous tone and jolly with smiling.

無理に意識しているわけでなく、そうしたほうが心地いいのです。I do them naturally because changing behaviors to each languages make me comfortable. 

「言語と身体性」という言葉を聞いたことがありますか？ざっくり言うと、言語と身体の使い方はリンクしていると言うことです。
Have you heard about "Language and Physicality"? In brief, languages and how you move your body has a strong connection.

例えば、通訳の仕事をしている友達の話です。マイナス２０度のロシアの町を歩いていた時のことです。彼は「Actually, I haven't experienced such cold weather.」と英語で言おうとした時に口が開かなかったそうです。

For example,　this is a story from a friend of mine who is  an interpreter. One day it was so cold, - 20 celsius, he was walking on the street.　He tried to say " Actually, I haven't experienced such cold weather." but he could not open his mouth.
