#7. The Media Giant store attack

ニールとバイオレットが飲みながら話をしているシーン。

Neil：I find out there's gonna be another Media Giant store-opening at least a mile away.
店の近所に大型店がオープンしたんだ。

Violet：So, what are we gonna do about that big video store?
じゃあ、襲ってみない？

バイオレットのセリフはだいぶ意訳してますが、この後そういう展開になるのでよしとしましょう。

そしてその大型店へ行ってみることに。

Violet：After he leaves, we'll go out and switch the DVDs so that they are all in the wrong boxes.
彼が帰ったら、DVDを違うケースに入れ替えるのよ。

すると警報が鳴り響き、慌てて逃げる二人。

Neil：Silent alarm? I can afford a silent alarm, forget about it.
サイレントアラーム？すっかり忘れてた。

Neil：Um, so, if we can get back to the car, can I give you a lift?
車まで戻れたら送っていこうか？

Violet：No, you go, I think we've got to split up for the night.
だめ、行って。別行動にしましょ。

Neil：Well, what are you gonna do?
どうするんだ？

Violet：I'm just gonna lay low till the heat dies out, you know?
ほとぼりが冷めるまでここにいるわ。

can afford～：～を買う（する）余裕がある

split up：分割する、分ける

the heat dies out：熱が消える＝ほとぼりが冷める

最後は塀の穴越しにおやすみのキス♡

Violet：Neal, psst, hey, you.
We forgot the goodnight kiss.
ねえニール。おやすみのキスを。

Violet：I mean, you know, if you wanted the goodnight kiss.
もしよければ。

psst：周りに目立たないように、相手の関心を引きたいときに使うフレーズ
