この曲は1967年にマーヴィン・ゲイとタミー・テレルが発表した楽曲です。
昨日紹介した『What's Going on』と同様に、Shogo Hamada & The J.S. Inspirations名義で発売された『The Moonlight Cats Radio Show Vol. 2』に収録されています。

『What's Going on』は『Vol. 1』の最後の曲でしたが、今回の『Ain't No Mountain High Enough』は『Vol. 2』の最後の曲でした。
前向きな歌詞が元気をくれる曲となっていて、僕も大好きな曲の1つです。

浜田省吾のアレンジも素晴らしいのですが、この曲は原曲も中々に素晴らしいです。
僕にとっては2014年のマーベル・スタジオの映画『ガーディアンズ・オブ・ギャラクシー』の終盤で流れたのが印象深いですね。
ものすごくいいシーンでものすごくいい曲が流れて、その歌詞に感動したのをよく覚えています。
本当に素晴らしい楽曲です。

それを浜田省吾がカバーしてくれたのもかなり嬉しかったですね。
『The Moonlight Cats Radio Show』は洋楽カバーのミニアルバムですが、実は元々知っていたのはこの『Ain't No Mountain High Enough』だけでした。
あとは聴いたことのない楽曲でしたが、このアルバムを通して知ったというものでしたね。

そんな経緯もあってこの曲はかなり好きです。
やっぱり聴くと元気が出るというのが大きく、落ち込んでいても頑張ろうという気持ちになれます。
全体的に落ち着いた雰囲気の曲が多い中、最後にこのような元気になれる曲が流れると嬉しいですね。

こんな感じで、『Ain't No Mountain High Enough』の紹介でした。
この曲は映画でも使われることが多く、『天使にラブソングを2』のエンディングでも流れたそうです。
このことを知ってからこの映画を観たいのですが、1作目を観てから1年ほど空いてしまいました。
タイミングを見て、できれば年内には鑑賞したいですね。
