今回は2003年に発売された、Bustedの2枚目のアルバム『A Present for Everyone』より、『Over Now』について。

Busted『Over Now』

『Over Now』はアルバム『A Present for Everyone』の7曲目。
このアルバムは中学生の頃にハマりにハマり、めちゃくちゃ聴きまくっていましたね。
Bustedにハマったのは2005年頃でしたが、この当時既にBustedは解散していましたし、アルバムは『Busted』と『A Present for Everyone』の2枚のみしかありませんでした。
当時から好きなのはこの2枚目のアルバム『A Present for Everyone』でした。
本当に名曲が多く、どの曲も大好きでしたね。
今でもかなり好きな『Meet You There』も収録されていますが、アルバム内で1番好きなのは『Why』でした。

次に好きなのが今回の『Over Now』でした。
サビの”If that's possible”の歌詞が本当に印象的で、当時英語の授業で「仮定法」を勉強したばかりということもあってかなり記憶に残っています。
この当時からブログに興味がありましたし、弟と一緒に立ち上げたものはこの歌詞をブログのタイトルにしていましたね。
じゃっ大乱闘スマッシュブラザーズシリーズんの黒歴史ではありますが、今となってはいい思い出です。

Bustedというと、キャッチーでノリのいいポップな曲だったり、若々しさ全開のロックな曲が多い印象です。
その中でも割としっとりめなのがこの『Over Now』なイメージで、大きな盛り上がりもなく淡々と進行していくのが非常に心に残っていました。
今聴いてもめちゃくちゃ好きな曲ですね。

まとめ

こんな感じで、Bustedの『Over Now』の紹介でした。
日本公演が決まってからBusted熱が上がっているので、こうして昔好きだった曲を紹介するのが楽しくて仕方ありません。
それこそハマっていた当時は解散していたバンドですが、10年の時を経て再結成し、さらに10年近くが経って日本でもライブが行われるのです。
かつての僕には想像できない事態となっていますが、本当に最高すぎますね。
