Bring Me The Horizon『MANTRA』

『MANTRA』はBring Me The Horizonのアルバム『amo』の2曲目。
1曲目とは全く違う雰囲気の楽曲で、昨年11月に開催されたBring Me The Horizon主催のフェス「NEX_FEST」でも生で聴くことができました。

歌詞からも分かる通り、何となく宗教味を感じる楽曲となっています。
今回初めてミュージックビデオを見ましたが、中々に怖さを感じられる映像となっていました。
ライブでは盛り上がる楽曲でしたが、ちゃんと歌詞を読み込むとこちらも怖さを感じられるものでしたね。

『MANTRA』について、Bring Me The Horizonのフロントマンのオリヴァー・サイクスはこう語っていました。

曲作りのプロセスが終わるころ、精神的に壊れかけてしまった。曲はたくさんできていたけど、「世界に向けて最初に見せつけるのはこれだ」って言えるような曲がなかった。「MANTRA」はそこから生まれたんだ。これまでのリスナーが疎外感を覚えるほど変わってはいないけど、前作と同じじゃないと分かってもらえる曲。テーマは、恋愛の始まりとカルトの始まりの共通点について――つまり、何かのために自分の全人生を放棄することも厭（いと）わずに、それが自分にとって正しかろうとそうじゃなかろうと、信念の全てを注ぎ込まずにはいられないってことを歌っている。

こんな感じで、Bring Me The Horizonの『MANTRA』についてでした。
カルトをテーマにした楽曲で、歌詞もミュージックビデオも怖さを感じられるものとなっています。
ですが、ライブで聴けた時は中々にテンションが上がった曲でしたね。
