Busted『Loser Kid』

『Loser Kid』はBusted1枚目のアルバム『Busted』の11曲目、アルバム最後の曲となっています。
曲の歌詞から分かるように、1曲目にしてデビューシングルの『What I Go To School For』のアンサーソングとなっています。
歌詞の中に『What I Go To School For』にも登場したマッケンジー先生が出てきますし、曲のタイトルも歌詞の中に出てきています。

『What I Go To School For』では憧れの先生と付き合うという、華々しく夢を叶えたように見えた主人公でしたが、実は「負け組」の人生を送っていた、というのがこの曲の内容になっています。
ちょっと意外な内容ではありますが、ある意味ではこれこそが人生って感じがしますね。
世の中もいいことばかりではなく、光を浴びるような人も影の中を歩んでいたというのがこれらの曲から分かります。

また、『Loser Kid 2.0』としてBusted結成20周年を記念したSimple Planとのコラボを果たしています。
こちらのリメイクバージョンも中々に素敵ですし、ここから連続して様々な楽曲を発表してくれたのも記憶に新しいですね。

こんな感じで、Bustedの『Loser Kid』の紹介でした。
デビュー曲の曲名や登場人物が出てくる楽曲のイメージでしかなかったこの曲ですが、しっかりと歌詞を読むとまた違った印象を抱きましたね。
かつてはアルバム最後の曲という印象でしかなかったのですが、リメイクバージョンが公開された1番最初の曲ということもあり、ここでがらりとイメージが変わって好きになりました。
