【へっぽこ英会話９Months⑧】病院がおともだち

病院がきらいだ。
行くだけで気分が悪くなる。

でも子育てしていると、病院と仲良くしないといけなくなってしまう。

小さな子どもは、すぐ体調不良になる。
風邪を引く。
おまけに喘息気味だ。

今回は、そんな話。

以下、講師との話を書き起こしてみた。

I woke up drained this morning.
I felt like I didn't get any sleep at all.
Because my son coughed a lot in the middle of the night.
He had trouble breathing.
Many children have trouble breathing when they are young, as they become adults this gets better.

今朝は疲れて目が覚めました。まるで全く眠れなかったような気がしました。なぜなら、息子が夜中にひどく咳をしたからです。呼吸が苦しそうでした。多くの子供は幼い頃に呼吸が苦しくなりますが、大人になるにつれて良くなります。

Since last week, I have been taking him to the hospital every two days.
The doctor puts a mask on him to expand his lungs to help him breath.
He was given medicine, so his symptoms have subsided.
But on top of that, he has caught a cold.
He has a runny nose.
I took him to another hospital.

先週から2日に1回病院に連れて行っています。医者は呼吸がしやすいように肺を膨らませるマスクを彼に着けさせています。薬も処方されたので症状は治まっています。でもそれに加えて風邪をひいてしまいました。鼻水が出ています。別の病院に連れて行きました。

I hate hospitals.
Just going there is exhausting.
I've had to go there so many times.

病院が嫌いです。行くだけでも疲れます。何度も行かなければなりませんでした。

I also wake up so many times at night to check on him.
He moves around the room and sometimes he doesn't even have his blanket on.
I want him to get better soon.

夜中に何度も起きて息子の様子を確認します。息子は部屋の中を動き回り、毛布をかけていないこともあります。早く良くなってほしいです。
