#11 demon mountain

YURI anne comes from Sendai, Miyagi.
Her parents used to run a minshuku, or a B and B (bed and breakfast),
and she would often help them during vacations.
From her early days,
diligent at both studies and sports, she wanted to be a doctor to save a life.
Eventually, she graduated from T univ at the top,
and passed the national examination on the first try.
Soon after she started her career as a surgeon,
her parents were killed in the disaster.
She has since been left alone on the Earth.
When the beach was allowed to enter,
she did not see any traces of the past there.
Then she pledged that she would live strong all alone.

Even now, she often suffers from flashbacks and nightmares,
however strong she might be.
That is why she sometimes visits a clinic at the foot of Mt Asa, Gunma,
where a university friend she trusts works as a psychiatrist.
Mt Asa has erupted several times, and the lava flow, cool and hard,
has spread around to its foot.since the last eruption decades of years ago,
the moumtain has been called Akuma yama, or Demon mountain,
because the eruption gave  extensive damagd to the local people.

When YURI gets to the clinic at about noon, FUJI, a friend and doctor, welcomes her with a smile.

"Been ages!  How have you been?" said FUJI.

"Not so bad.  But sometimes tears come out."

"Proof of being alive! 
First, you know, take a test please. 
I know, the Youth has great jobs. It's really cool. 
I'd like to have you examine our case."
"Your cace?  What's that?" 

There are six patients lying and not moving at all like mannequins,
but MYSTERIOUSLY, their hearts are just beating, with biological reaction.Additionally, all of them having no family,
which has not made the case a big problem.

After almost every test, YURI takes the last test, X ray examination,
and soon after that, she has become the seventh victim

The call from Dr. FUJI calls the Youth to the hospital.
YURI is lying in bed as if she were a doll.
MOROBOSHI must be feeling much sadder than anybody else,
tingling with a feeling beyond description.

(What happened to you?)

The planet WILD had been extremely suffering
from declining birthrate and aging society.
It was much too late to be fruitful and multiply.
If the trend continued, the planet literally would be the wilds.
After repeating their reseach many times,
they realized how important human souls were for them to live longer,
and succeeded in inventing a camera to take just a soul from human body.At last a young alien was sent out to the Earth.

"Well, all of these patients became such a state,
soon after having the X ray examination, didn't they?"

"Yes, they did.  Professor KIRIYA, save the patients and YURI, please,"
FUJI asks him as praying.

"Let's listen to him, shall we?"

Alien WILD, who has disguised itself as a radiographer,
returns to its hideout in the hotel building ruined at the last eruption,
left in the middle of the demon mountain.

"I might have been detected. 
If I should be dead, take this SOUL FILM to the WILD,"
it hands in to one of his nurses.

"If possible, three more souls…"

the red glasses young man has appeared out of nowhere.

"I'm now in anger."

"Just, just a moment.  Listen to me, please. 
I'd just like to save our civilians, above all, our planet. 
Even on the Earth, some fight a miserable battle
so that they will their people or their nation,
right now somewhere."

"It is a wrong idea!  Certainty,
war happens for some reason or other. 
But they should save ALL LIFE,
because they were MIRACULOUSLY born
on such a beautiful blue planet."

"If so, what makes wars happen and repeat?"

"No idea why.  I can say this, a fool would destroy itself."

"Sophistry!"

the alien holds its camera at MOROBOSHI.
At the moment before the shutter is released,
the lightning knife has just pierced its body.
Then, alien WILD gives a death cry,
raising its right hand up to the sky.

"NU…URSE, help me!  NU…UURSE!!"

There appear ten androids dressed in nurse uniforms,
and they vertically combines into a smake-like machine,
repeating quick charges at MOROBOSHI.
He shoots the lightning knife at the snake,
but its hard body bounces it back.
Next time in no time,
the moment he has warded it off,
the tip of tail hits his glasses off,
the next moment his body is tightened up by the snake.

When he almost loses consciousness, he sees HAWK 1
has shot down the WILD spaceship
by which the dying alien tries to leave the Earth.
At the same time the ship has exploded,
the snake robot devides back into ten nurse androids.
MOROBOSHI catches the falling SOUL FILM.

Just a few days later, AMABE succeeds in the experiment
of OPTICAL PRINTER to back souls to its body.
One problem has been solved on the Earth.

(But not yet on the other.   How has the planet WILD been?)
