日本語の歌詞書いてみたので、ちょこちょこ公開していきます。
日本語の賛美って、最近の曲であっても、どこかちょっと堅苦しいと言うか、砕き方がそうじゃない感があると思うんですよね～。
と言う訳で、ノンクリスチャン家庭出身の元記者として、単語選びやストーリーテリングを重視した歌詞書いてみました。

この歌詞の登場人物は「I(自分)」と「YOU(イエス・キリスト)」の二人。
表現したかったのは二人の心の距離感です。

日本語って言語は口調や使う一人称によって、その人の距離感や社会的地位の序列がある程度推測できてしまう言語。
またキリスト教の文化は、実生活レベルではあんまり馴染みがありません。(人口の1%未満)

それに題名からして「PROPHESY(＝預言→未来を予知する予言ではなく、神から預かった言葉と言う意味)」からして専門用語。

どうしようか考えていると、二人の関係が言葉を「預ける」とか「託す」と言う事ができる事＝この二人は実際に会話をする関係性を既に築いている事に気付きます。

そこでイエスが息子だと思っている人間に対して「お前が何者なのか、思い出せ」と語りかけるような形にしようと思うに至りました。

その結果、ただの人だった「自分」が預言者であり、彼から愛されている子供だと言うアイデンティティーを発見する。そんなストーリーになりました。

ただの翻訳ではなく、この詞が歌う世界観とか、ストーリーを大切にしたいと思って言葉を選びました。
