TOPIC Can individual privacy be protected in modern society?

以下エッセイ

Beneath the protection of our individual privacy lie numerous worrying issues. Unfettered by the rapid development of social media, the emergence of autocratic nations and digitized society, it cannot be said that the protection of individual privacy is guaranteed in recent society.

The widespread dissemination of social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook must be one of the contributing factors. Many youngsters go so far as to display their belongings, friends and even whereabouts, potentially exposing their personal information to numerous unknown people. In the worst-case scenario, they fall victim to serious crimes such as violence and murder owing to this public exposure.

It is obvious that autocratic nations exploit surveillance systems under the guise of improving their social order. China is a case in point in which it always tracks public citizens in order to confirm whether or not they subvert its political system through the use of their personal information like identity and address. As a consequence, not only does such an authoritarian mechanism pose a grave threat to the safety of local people but also it suppresses freedom of speech.

Furthermore, it is safe to say that digitized society has put our personal privacy at risk.
In cases where we are required to register our personal information on various sites, there is a high probability that individual information can be unwittingly leaked in public places. On account of this issue, anonymous perpetrators attempt to sell our personal information for the purpose of gaining huge financial profit, consequently leading to situation in which we get embroidered in crimes.

In conclusion, three main factors mentioned above in this essay corroborate my stance that individual privacy cannot be safely protected in modern world.
