Chapter 2

English follows

今日から9月、ロンドンでは新各年度の始まり月です。そんなタイミングで引っ越しをしました。

家族で話し合い、意思決定したのが７月上旬。２ヶ月前ノーティスのために即座に大家に解約申請をしてからアイスランド旅行に行き、戻ってきてからがお尻の決まった物件探しで、それが大変で寿命が縮みました。来英時、1日で数件見た中から即決めして5日後に入居していたのは、すごくラッキーだったみたい。

とにかく自業自得なんだけど修羅の夏をぎりぎりで乗り切り、３日前に越してきたのが、リッチモンド行政区の奥のテディントンという町です。

ロンドンの中で、ピンクの星（MaidaVale）から赤い区
(Richmond upon Thames)のなかの白星(Teddington)に転居です。

セントラル・ロンドンから電車で35分、巨大な鹿が闊歩するブッシーパークやテムズ川が近い郊外です。引越してすぐにちかくのTESCO（スーパー）で買い物したら、なんでも前に住んでいたところよりちょっとづつ安くてびっくりしました。

新居は二階建てのセミ・デタッチド・ハウスというタイプで、前のフラットに比べてすごく広くなったのですが、何が嬉しいって、小さな庭に洗濯物が干せること。２年９か月ぶりに中干しから解放された嬉しさよ！

さらには、ご近所さんがとても良いかんじです。引っ越し翌日にあいさつ回りをして、地域のゴミの出し方やおすすめの歯医者さんなども教えてもらい、滑り出しは良好。

隣のご夫婦は、翌日玄関に素敵なお花とウェルカム・カードを届けてくれました！

我が家のロンドン暮らし、第二章、開幕です。諸事情により当面ジェットコースターみたいな時期が続きますが、ちょっとづつでもあたらしい暮らしをご紹介していこうと思います。

September is the beginning month of the academic year in London. Our family moved to a new place at such a time.

We made this decision at the beginning of July and told the previous landlady, following the two-month advance notice agreement. Then we went on a road trip to Iceland. Hence, I had a crazy August to search for a property with a fixed deadline.

We moved into Teddington, in the borough of Richmond upon Thames.

It's a 35-minute train ride from Waterloo station. Minutes walk from the Bushy Park, where giant deer roam, and the River Thames. I visited a local supermarket and found that everything was cheaper than in Maida Vale!

The new property is semi-detached with a small garden. What makes me happy is that I can dry my clothes in the garden.

DRY LAUNDRY OUTSIDE. I can't remember how I could manage without it for the last two years and nine months!

Furthermore, we went to greet and found that our neighbours were all very nice and welcoming. The madam next door delivered lovely flowers and a message card!

Well, we managed to overcome the terrible August. For some reason, our family is still on a rollercoaster ride for the time being, but I'll do my best to report our family's Chapter 2 in London.
