Heart warming cafe in Kyoto

I had 3 days off.

I had decided what I was going to bake during this weekend.
However, I didn’t have the other plan.

I had plenty free time during this big weekend.
Then I finally decided to go to Kyoto on Sunday.

Kyoto is the town where I spent time during my university days.

That’s why I feel familiar with this town.

However, there is one problem about Kyoto for me.

That is “crowds”.

Not all areas, only shopping areas and places near famous temples and shrines.

I visit Kyoto a few times a year.

And I normally avoid these areas have crowds.

Today, I had to go to the biggest shopping area to get some Japanese traditional sweets.

It was only 20 - 30 minute to be there.

However, I was so exhausted because of the crowds.

When I arrived at Maruta-machi, the atmosphere reminded me what kind of places I prefer.

That feeling was definitely same feeling I had in Brooklyn after spending time in Manhattan.

“I found a place I like.”

This feeling made me relieved.

The cafe I chose for lunch was “katte”.

This place didn’t have a long line-up for entering.

It was a important point for me.

This cafe has good interior, exterior, foods, atmosphere and music.

I ordered a bagel sandwich plate for lunch.

Lox and cream cheese bagel sandwich with green salad and carrots salad.

The homemade bagel was really good.

The time to have the good lunch and coffee over listening to “don’t know why” by Norah Jones was absolutely great.

I highly recommend this cafe to have a good time in Kyoto.

P.S. This place has also free WiFi :)
