5 recommendations you should bring from Japan when you go to Vancouver in winter

Hello, I am Mio staying in Vancouver for 4 months. This article is for people who are living in Japan and planning to travel to Vancouver in winter season.

Have you ever been to Vancouver? Is it your first time to go to Vancouver in winter? Today I would like to share my recommendations for when you go to Vancouver in winter season.

1. Japanese medicine(for COLD)

It's enough for many people to bring Japanese medicine for cold the amount of 2 weeks - 1 month. It will be too hard for you to search for a clinic, go to pharmacy, ask staff which medicine is effective for your body when you catch a cold.

2. Disposal heat pack

Actually I haven't ever seen this product sold in Vancouver. When I felt cold and freezing, it was really useful and made my body warm😊

3. Waterproof boots (protect from getting wet completely)

Vancouver has a lot of rain every day in winter season. Of course you can get waterproof boots in Vancouver, many of which can't protect your feet from getting wet completely. I recommend you to buy 100% waterproof boots in Japan before traveling.

4. SNOOD (kind of a scarf to wear around a neck)

I saw there were a lot of scarves to wear and protect your neck from cold air in some stores, but I have hardly ever seen snoods in Vancouver. It's more effective to wear a snood than to wear a scarf.

5. Stationary (made in Japan)

Stationary made in Japan is really useful. If you study overseas, you should bring pens, pencils, and erasers from Japan. Of course you can buy Japanese stationary in Vancouver, but you have to pay 3 times price for them compared to buying in Japan.

extra. Nail cutters (clippers)

Japanese nail cutters are so convenient because they have holders to put in nails after cutting. It's more efficient to throw them away. It got on my nerves when I was struggling to cut my nails with using a nail cutter bought in Vancouver. It disperses nails after cutting😠
