"If one of the new coronavirus pneumonia patients in this room does not die, the next bed will not be vacant."

This is an emergency from New York hospital. I think this doctor just wanted to say, “We need more beds." However, the word** “one of the new coronavirus pneumonia patients have to die"** was so shocking that I thought it would never came out of the word from healthcare professional. Want to save the lives of as many people as you can, but don't you know that many people don't have enough beds to save, mentally and physically suffering and being confused? 

And even in Japan, the number of beds for new corona virus patients is decreasing day by day. In response, Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike said on April 2 that we had increased 700 beds. In the future, she said that the capital will adjust by renting hotels as a facility. If this were to happen, it would save the lives of patients, while the hotel industry would be hit hard after the convergence. 

In Tokyo, some major dining chains, large shopping centers, amusement parks, etc. are scheduled to close temporarily for about a week. They decided to close even if they have a lot of risks. 

In this situation, two masks are distributed from the country. Two per household. According to the statistics of 2019, the number of households is about 59 million. It seems that 200 yen is required for each distribution, and** the total is about 20 billion yen.** It's a question that you can only doubt if there are some other uses. Lol

【日本語】医療現場の混乱と日本の対策措置

皆さん、いかがお過ごしでしょうか。

新型コロナウイルスで、日本を含め、世界的に混乱が続いています。今日取り上げるのは、ニュースの中で見た、医療関係者が発した一言について。

「ここの部屋にいる新型コロナウイルス肺炎患者のうち、誰か一人死ななければ、次のベッドが空かないのです。」

これは、ニューヨークの病院に勤務する医師の言葉です。この医師が言いたかったことは、「とにかくベッドが足りない」ということだと思います。しかし、「誰か一人死ななければ」という言葉は、医療関係者から絶対に出ることのないものだと思っていましたから、あまりにも衝撃的でした。

1人でも多くの人の命を助けたいと思う反面、多くの人が助かるためにはベッドが足りないという、精神的にも肉体的にも苦しみ、混乱していることが伝わってきませんか？

そして日本でも、新型コロナウイルス患者に対応しているベッド数は日に日に少なくなっています。これに対して小池百合子東京都知事は、4月2日、ベッドを700床増加したとのこと。また今後は、都が民間のホテルを借り上げていくなどして調整する予定と答えています。これが実現した場合、患者の命を救うことにつながる一方で、事態が収束した後のホテル業界は相当の打撃を受けることになるでしょう。

東京では、某大手飲食チェーン店、大型ショッピングセンター、アミューズメントパークなどが１週間ほどの臨時休館を予定しているところが出てきました。国民の生活に身近な会社や団体が自主的に、経済的なリスクを負ってでも休館を決めています。

この状況で、国からはなんとマスクが２枚配られるそうです。一世帯に２枚。平成31年の統計によると、世帯数は約5900万。1枚の配布につき、200円要するらしく、合計は約200億。もう少し、他の使い方があるのではないか、疑問しかない措置ですね。（笑）

今日のところは一旦、「政府は私たち国民のパニックを避けるために、緊急事態宣言を先延ばしにしている」、ということにしておきましょう…。どうか皆さん、お気をつけてお過ごしください。
