『大学初年度の振り返り』2年/#0/Ping-Jo, Chen

Hello there! My name is Ping Jo Chen, and I am a freshman in the Faculty of Liberal Arts. Although I am a foreigner and am kind of shy, don’t ever hesitate to talk to me when you see me around!

This is my first year studying in Japan, therefore, joining a club that is full of local people will be a really great challenge for me. Nevertheless, I would love to take the opportunity since basketball is a sport that has always been near and dear to my "heart", and also a chance to improve my Japanese conversational abilities.

As the season has started already, I have realized that I am one of the weakest players due to my overweight physique and lack of training. However, I am willing to do whatever it takes to catch up with my fellow teammates and contribute to the team on and off the court. All of the other members have been together for over a year already, so my short-term goal, for now, is to try to fit into the team (and also get in the shape of course). Furthermore, my long-term goal is to become a role player on the team and to secure all the W for the team.

Lastly, joining the basketball club does not only mean playing basketball for me. It is more like getting to know a group of people that will overcome some challenges and obstacles together as a group in the future. I am really looking forward to the new season, and I am sure that no matter what happens, as long as we communicate effectively and figure out our weaknesses. We can definitely be one of the top teams in Tokyo.
