Production Notes #20 "The Dining Table"

This film is symbolized by the scene at the dinner table. The slapstick start of the daily breakfast. The night when Haruka tells her family about her illness. The family gathers not in the living room, but at the dining table. There are calendars, town announcements on the refrigerator, and soy sauce, teacups, and cup noodles are just a few steps away. But it's too small and cumbersome, so small conversations like, "Can you pass me a beer," or "Would you like a fish cutlet? But it's small and cumbersome, so small conversations come and go. It is at the dining table that Haruka laments, "This family is finished. Laughter, sorrow, and frustration come from the dining table. The dining table is a place that modern families seem to forget. This film is a pure love film. The pure love is the love between cousins, family love, and human love. It is a film about the love between cousins, family, and human beings. To be continued.
