短編映画制作日記 #4 「尺が伸びる脚本」 | Production Notes #4 "A script that extends the length of the film"

I've been staring at the script and location photos alternately, day in and day out. The days and nights seem to turn upside down at the end of the year. I realize that the film making process has begun. The original story was written by me, and the script was written by Akio Miyoshi, an active screenwriter from Tokushima. We have a lot of fun and painful exchanges. When I read Mr. Miyoshi's script today, I felt my nose twitching and I was very upset. As expected, the length of the film is getting longer. I hope it will be short this time. To be continued

来る日も来る日も脚本とロケ地写真を交互ににらめっこ。昼夜が逆転しそうな年の瀬。ああ映画づくりが始まったんだなあと実感する。今回の物語は原作が僕、脚本は地元徳島出身で活躍中の脚本家 三好昭央さん。楽しくて苦しいやりとりを繰り返す。今日は三好さんの脚本を読んで鼻がつーんとしてうるっとした。案の定映画の尺(長さ)が伸びてゆく(苦笑)。今回は短編で収まりますように。つづく
