映画制作日記 #21 「消えもの」 | Production Notes #21 “Disappeared"

In Japanese, the word "vanishing object" is used to refer to the food that appears in a meal scene in a movie. As the name suggests, it is something that disappears. It's not the same as making a dish look delicious for a moment in a commercial; you have to clear the high hurdles of "freshly made," "steamy," and "very tasty. This time, Eri-chan, who is in charge of disappearing things, was in charge. The food was delicious, as if she was running a restaurant. And she knows just the right timing! She knows just the right timing. For the meal scenes, the chef's cooking skills and maneuverability affect the schedule. The meal scenes, which are portrayed in a straightforward manner, are the work of professionals.

映画の現場で食事のシーンなどで登場する料理などのことを「消えもの」と言う。読んで字のごとく消えてしまうもののこと。これが撮影の現場では地味に大変。CMなどで料理そのものを一瞬美味しく見せる、というのと種類の違う大変さで、「できたて」「湯気なんかがたっちゃって」「とても美味しい」なんていうなかなかの高いハードルをクリアしなくちゃいけない。今回は敏腕消えもの担当の英理ちゃんが担当した。日頃お店をやっているだけあって美味しい。そして、このタイミング！という絶妙な間合いが分かっている。食事のシーンはここの担当者の料理の腕と機回しがスケジュールを左右していく。さらっと描いている食事シーンは、やはりプロのなせる技なのだ。
