短編映画制作日記 #9 「美しい喜劇」 | Production Notes #9 "A Beautiful Comedy”

For this short film, I'm working with cinematographer Toshihiro Hayashi to capture the beauty of comedy and tragedy. We received a 40mm Classic Prime from SIGMA, the company that will be supporting us in this shoot. This is a lens that Sigma has been very particular about depicting light. With this lens, we will shoot a slapstick comedy. I had to forcefully contain the mismatch between the silly dialogue and the beautiful scenery. I'll try to create a scene that doesn't resemble the scenes that tend to be portrayed in such settings. To be continued.

この短編は喜劇と悲劇を美しく撮る、を撮影監督の林俊宏と一緒に目指す。今回撮影をサポートしてくれるSIGMAから40mm Classic Primeが届く。光の描写にSIGMAがとことんこだわったレンズだ。このレンズでドタバタとした喜劇を撮る。くだらない台詞と美しい風景というミスマッチを強引に封じ込める。こういうセッティングで走りがちな情景描写に似つかわしくないシーンにしようと思う。つづく。
