Using Squid Game to learn English

Why the hell did I start to watch Squid Game on Netflix all of the sudden two years after the show wa released?

Now I'm on episode 6 or 7, out of 9 episodes.

Here's how I watch:
Until the first few episodes I checked Japanese translations when I came across some unfamiliar words or expressions. But now I'm pressuring myself to understand all the lines without any Japanese hindrance.

That way, I can kind of trick my brain into believing that everything is originally in English, although it's totally fake and made in Korea.

This has helped me a lot in consuming the content as it is with an English mode.

It feels like you're in the States and you have no Japanese version at all.

I have to pay close attention to what each person says and means, which makes my brain drained, but I don't want to take too much time to finish one episode so I try to understand the plot in just one go.

As they say, there's an accounting for taste. Every each one of us has our own way of studying, and it's us that decide how we approach things.

Some might disagree with my method, but this is how I enjoy learning English so far.
