英語保育プリスクール　Preschools using English during daycare

添付した2023年10月8日付け朝日新聞記事は英語保育プリスクールに関するものです。

この記事は過日の英検1級（同等）有資格者ネットワークの月例会（＊）でも紹介、確認し、意見を交わしました。

プリスクール保育卒業生を多く受け入れている都内の小学校で英語を担当しているメンバーの話では“英語の能力は他の生徒よりは付いているが、基本的な学校生活態度に問題がある児童が多い”とのコメントがありました。

これは、“英語ができる”ことを誤解して“他人よりも優れている”と親子ともに誤解し、過大評価しているからでしょう。

“英語ができる”ことと人間性、頭の良さとは別問題ですから、子供の早期英語教育（保育）には親による日本語によるしつけ、考えが先ず大切になることを再認識しました。

このようなビジネス優先（？）の英語保育は英語コンプレックスのある、複数言語教育制度のお粗末な日本や、中国などの国々で成立するものでしょう。

そして、これは親のエゴが如実に表れている悲しい（？）現象でもあります。

過度な商業主義の犠牲者にならないように注意が必要です。

子供たちにとって、学びたい言語を両親の年収に関係なく、学べる環境を作ることができれば、と私は願っています。そして、その学習方法を私のホープページ（＊）でも公開しています。

英語を使うビジネス（英語塾、翻訳、通訳など）で収入の一部を得てきた私ですが、その一方で、できるだけ多くの人が英語に触れ、情報交換しながら相互啓発して英語を学習できる以下のような尾道無料英会話道場（今年で43年目）も作ってきました。

これは無料、又は場所代だけで英語学習できる場所で、新聞で報道されたプリスクールとは真逆で、英語を誰でもいつからでも勉強できます。

The attached October 8, 2023 Asahi Shimbun article is about English preschools.

This article was introduced, confirmed, and discussed at a recent monthly meeting of the Eiken Level 1 (or equivalent) Qualified Persons’ Network (*).

A member in charge of English education at an elementary school in Tokyo that accepts many preschool graduates commented, "They have more English ability than other ordinary pupils, but many of them have problems with their basic attitudes in class.

This is probably because both parents and children overestimate and misunderstand their "English ability" and think that they are "better than others" to have some English skills.

I have reaffirmed the importance of parents' discipline and thinking in Japanese in the early English education (childcare) of their children, because "English ability" is not the same as humanity or intelligence.

This kind of business first (?) childcare using English would be viable in Japan, which has an English complex and a lousy multi-language education system, and in some other countries, such as China.

This is also a sad (?) phenomenon that is a true reflection of parental ego.

Care must be taken not to become victims to excessive commercialism.

It is my wish to provide an environment where children can learn the language they want to learn, regardless of their parents' income. And for that purpose, I have provided the method of their learning English with less money on my Hope page (*).

While I have earned part of my income from businesses that use English (English tutoring, translation, interpretation, etc.), I have also created the following opportunities since 1980’s for as many people as possible to come into contact with English and exchange information (free of charge, or just the cost of the location).

(3) Eiken Level 1 (and equivalent) Qualified Persons’ Network (since 2014, Japan, for all areas)

These are where English can be learned for free or only for the cost of a place, the exact opposite of the preschools reported in the newspapers, where anyone can learn English at any time.
