同格のthat ;　名詞＋that＋完全文　

　　The news that he won the Nobel Prize surprised us.
　　「彼がノーベル賞を受賞したという知らせは私たちを驚かせた。」

接続詞のthat ;　主語＋述語＋that＋完全文　　　
       I believe that he is a great scholar.
　　「私は彼は偉大な学者だと信じています。」

関係代名詞のthat ;  主語＋述語＋名詞＋that＋不完全文　
　　He was the only person that understood me.
　　「彼は私を理解してくれた唯一の人だった。」
