音楽: Electro #1 | Pomplamoose - Something About US (by Daft Punk)
たまたま読んでいた こちらの記事 に ブラジルでの外国音楽人気ランキングが載っていて：
上から四番目にある Pomplamoose の名前にちょっと驚き。
５年ほど前だったか YouTubeで彼らの曲を聴いて気に入ったとき 所謂インディーなんだろうなと想像していたんですが Wikipediaを参照すると 既に当時から人気だったようですね。
いまや北米のメジャーなバンド/ミュージシャンに肩を並べる メジャーな存在なのかも（歳相応に 世の中を知らず。。。）
既成の巨大音楽産業によるプロモーション方法に違和感を感じたこのデュオは 手作り感のあるネット配信でファンを広げていくアプローチを取ったようですね。

大物の名曲カバーが彼らの人気を下支えした印象があり 私見では Daft Punk のそれが秀逸だと感じます。
中でも『Something About Us』↓ では 声量の足りない華奢なヴォーカルが訥々と語りかけ 明瞭に耳に伝わるテキストに はっ とさせられます。
本家/オリジナル版はテキストの一部を機械音に変換してフェードさせ 甘くならないよう曖昧に抑えたのかもしれませんが。
Pomplamoose のアレンジは オリジナルの機械っぽく乾いた音を リアルな人間の湿度に変換し 直球のラブソングに仕立て直した感じですね。
曲げた両腕を体と平行に上げて歌う姿と 光背を思わせるヘッドフォンの円弧は 聖なる何者かのようにも。。。

Daft Punkのカバーだけを集めたビニールレコードがリリースされたようですから ファンが求めているんでしょう。
「形式的にB面の表示が印刷されてるけど 全ての曲はA面収録の扱い」とのことです。

YouTubeの Daft Punk 公式サイトには 故松本零士先生とコラボした 『Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem』 で使用された楽曲が幾つも公式動画として紹介されており フランス人二人組の巨匠への敬意と哀悼を感じました。
『キャプテンハーロック (フランスでは "Albator" )』の薫陶を受けているでしょうから 尚更かな。
Newsweek の記者さんからは こんな ↓ 熱い解説が。。。
(私には そこまでの賛辞はしっくりきませんけど。。。。無論 アニメの動きは滑らかで描写は細かく 手間の掛かったいい出来だと感じます。)
三つ子の魂ってやつですかね。

書いているうちに思い出したのが
『Something About Us』は 10年ほど前 北米の某社との会議の際に指定されたその社の音声会議システムで流れていました。
相手を待つ間に聞こえるDaft Punkオリジナル版の弾むイントロは やがて始まるタフな一日への慰めだったなぁ。。。。
