It is a time where people reflect on the year and think about what they want to achieve in the next year.

I have had new year's resolutions in the past, but they didn't really seem to stick throughout the year. For 2023 I want to try to think about what I want to do in the mind-frame of a theme instead.

We have tried to buy a new home, one that is smaller but with more land so we can grow vegetables. Currently we don't have space to grow vegetables where we live. The housing situation in the UK is not good at the moment; homes are very overpriced, inflation is high and affordability with the energy crisis makes it more complicated.

We have been thinking about using the money we have saved to re-design our current home instead of trying to buy our 'perfect' house (which probably doesn't exist where we live or it does exist and we won't be able to afford it). We have been living in 'limbo' trying to figure out what to do for about 3 years now, so we have decided to work towards creating an 'almost perfect' home with what the house that we currently live in.

In 2023 I want to get my finances more in order and turn our current house into a home that works more for us.

For me, 2023 will be about 'action' and finally turning thoughts and ideas into reality.
