何故、インド人学生は世界企業のCEOになれるのか？英語で読むデザイン【19】

世界の名だたる企業google, Micro Soft, IBM, PEPSICOそしてデザイナーおなじみのAdobeこれらの社長は皆インド人です。もう一つの共通点は同じ学校、インド工科大学（IIT）を出ていること。
私の友人・知人にもIIT出身者は数多くいますが、何故彼らが、世界中の優秀人材を勝ち抜いて海外でトップまで上り詰められるのか気になり、何度となくインド人に聞いてみました。

彼らの答えは、一般的なもので、『たくさん勉強をしている、競争が激しい』などですが、それは他のアジアの国々も一緒のはずと言ったら、インドの友人は確かに奇妙だねということで調査して記事を書いてくれました。

私のかつての仮説は、
・カーストにおいてエンジニアという職のポジションが悪くないから
・数学が得意な国民であるから
・英語が公用語の一つとして、定着していること
そして、リーダーにとってとても大切な
・多神教であり、様々な思想に対して許容できること
でありましたが、はたして、、、
第一回は、どのような人が世界企業の重要なポジションについて活躍しているかについてです。

Indian Born Ceo’s ruling the global Corporate sector – Who, How and Why?

Part1

Global tech giants are witnessing a very Indian trend with regards to top quality talent. Indian origin corporate leaders have taken up the CEO mantle at large technology corporates. Madurai born Pichai Sundarajan joined Google in 2004 and in 2015, he became Google’s CEO (and later Alphabet Inc’s as well). He’s one of the most recognized Indian origin CEOs. Delhi born CEO, Arvind Krishna has served IBM as senior vice president for 29 years and then he became the CEO of the New York-based International Business Machines Corporation on the 31st January 2020. The Hyderabad-born Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella joined his role in 2014 after former CEO Steve Ballmer stepped down. Before becoming the CEO, he was the Executive Vice President of the company's cloud and enterprise division. Hyderabad-born Shantanu Narayan joined Adobe in 1998 as Vice President and General Manager of its engineering and technology group. He became the President and COO in 2005, CEO in 2007, and Chairman of the Board in 2017. Sixty-four-year-old Indra Nooyi, was born in Chennai and was one of the most powerful businesswomen in the world when she was the CEO of PepsiCo.

Fifty-two-year-old Rajeev Suri is the CEO of Nokia. Before joining Nokia, the New Delhi-born entrepreneur worked at MNCs in India and Nigeria. Born and raised in Gujarat, Sandeep Mathrani became the CEO of SoftBank-backed WeWork recently. He was the Executive Vice President at Forest City Ratner Companies and Vornado Realty Trust before becoming the CEO of General Growth Properties and Brookfield Properties Retail. After spending 22 years in Oracle, on 16th November 2018, Kerala born Thomas Kurian joined Google’s Cloud organization and within a year he was promoted to senior vice president. He became the CEO of Google Cloud in Jan 2019. In 2019, Laxman Narasimhan became the CEO of Reckitt Benckiser Group, a consumer goods company headquartered in Slough, England. Vasant Narasimhan is the CEO of Novartis, a global healthcare company based in Switzerland. Born in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh Nikesh Arora has been the CEO of Palo Alto Networks since June, 2018. After co-founding SanDisk in 1988 and serving as their President & CEO until 2016, Sanjay Mehrotra was chosen as Micron Technology's new CEO in February, 2017.
