ママになりました | I'm a mom!

1 週間前に我が家に新しい家族が誕生しました。
名前は芦田柚（あしだゆず）と言います。

出産当日の流れを夫がノートで詳しく書いてくれましたが、主治医との話し合いで妊娠 39週 6日目に急遽入院をすることになり計画分娩（誘発分娩）をすることになりました。自然分娩を希望していたので少し悔しい気持ちと、万が一出産が促されなかった場合は帝王切開の可能性もあったので不安もありました。しかし、我が子を迎え入れる心の準備は出来ていたし、赤ちゃんへの健康リスクを少しでも減らせるのであればと誘発分娩に同意しました。

もともとのスケジュールでは、12月30日の午前中から促進剤の点滴をスタートしゆっくり陣痛を起こしながらその日の夕方頃に出産をする予定でしたが、予想外のスピード出産となりました。12月29日の午前中に子宮口を柔らかくする薬剤を使用してから数時間後の17時頃に強い陣痛がおきて当日の20時17分に娘が生まれました。出産は言葉で表わせられないほどの強烈な痛みで、体が壊れるのではないかと思いましたが、娘を抱いた瞬間すべてが報われました。

オーストラリアは出産後の入院期間が短く（平均2-3日）退院のタイミングも決めさせてもらえるので、私達は12月31日に退院することにし、家族3人でシドニーのニューイヤーカウントダウンをすることも出来ました。今となっては、いいタイミングで生まれてきてくれたんだなと、感じています。

2020年は夫の勝負の年。
柚ちゃんも応援団に加わったことで、さらにサポートを強化して最高な 1 年にしていきます。

On 2019.12.29 20:17, we welcomed a new member into our family.
Our daughter, Yuzu. 

On the morning of December 29th at 39 weeks and 6 days pregnant, I was hospitalized for induced labor due to some concerns with the baby's growth. I wanted to give birth naturally so I was a bit disappointed as well as afraid since there was the likelihood of a c-section if the induced labor failed. However, I agreed to go forward with it as I was prepared to welcome my daughter any time now, and if it could reduce the potential health risks of the baby.

The plan was to start with phase 1 of induction on the 29th (to soften the cervix,) followed by phase 2 of induction (start the contraction) on the 30th and deliver the same day. We were told phase 1 of the induction kicks in after 12 hours, but it came into effect earlier than expected. Around 17:00 on Dec 29th, I started having strong painful contractions and was quickly carried to the delivery ward. After several hours later at 20:17, I gave birth to my baby girl. The pain of giving birth was indescribably painful but it was all worth it in the end.
  
In Australia the length of stay at the hospital is relatively short (2-3 days) and you can usually choose when to be discharged. We decided to leave on the 31st of December, so luckily we were able to do the New Year's countdown at home. After all, I think Yuzu came into this world at the best timing.

2020 is the most important year for Hajimu.
Now that we have an additional member Yuzu in our cheering squad, I believe we’ll have a strong, amazing year ahead. Go Hajimu Papa!
