みんなで「東アジア人」にLevel Upな件 ~YAP に参加してきました No.1~ (Eng follows)
もう１ヶ月ほど経ってしまいましたが、2/27~3/6まで、広西壮族自治省・南寧市にある広西大学にて開催された、
"2024 CJK+ASEAN Young Ambassador Program"（以下YAP）
に参加してきました。
YAPとは、
2013年から続いているYouth Exchange Program の一つです。こちらは例年日中韓３国の学生が参加し、３国協力について話し合う場です。今年は日中韓＋ASEANの総勢50名の大規模な会になりました。

まず、主催団体TCS、広西大学、関係者皆様に多大な感謝を述べたいと思います。以下で、その感謝を具体化してまいりますね。
参加してよかったことBest3
一言でいうと「優秀な仲間、先輩方に会うことが出来た」に収斂されますが、あえて３つに分けて書きます。
1️⃣Diversity & Inclusive＝自分のカバー範囲の「水平」拡張
日中韓→ASEANも追加
僕はCampus Asia Program （東大や早稲田などにある、日中韓星を含むアジアの大学での留学プログラム）にて中韓の友達を作ってきました。その過程で「自分は東アジア人」というアイデンティティを築いてきていました。
今回、日中韓だけでなくASEANの友達も出来ました。自分の「仲間」、カバー範囲＝「東アジア」（厳密には日中韓だけだった）にASEANの国が加わった気がしています。
簡単に言えば、好きな国が増えたということですね。
1️⃣のポイント：抽象と具体を「都合よく」行き来する。〇〇人・囚われすぎない
国際協力や、「国と国をつなぐ架け橋になる」ために僕が意識していることは以下です。
1-1.「個別」を知る・好きになる→その国「全体」の印象を高める
具体的な人（友達、道端の人、芸能人など）と話すことで、彼らを好きになること。心のつながりを作ること。
具体的な場所・思い出を作る（旅行など）も非常に有効だと思います。もちろん、どこかを訪れれば人と関わりも出来ますね。
1-2.「個別」のBadを知る→"でもこんな良い友だちがいる"と、国「全体」のイメージは下げない
世の中、テレビやネットニュースをつければ悪い情報に溢れています。「ネガティブはポジティブより６倍強い」などといいます。例えばある国Aに対する悪いニュースを１件聞いたら、良いニュースを６件聞かないと、釣り合いがとれないのです。
僕は、「国に対するイメージ」と友達を峻別するようにしています。例えば「日中／日韓関係が悪化している」とします。それは勿論由々しき事態です。「でも、それがなんじゃい、俺は彼らが好きだから良いんだ」を絶対に忘れないようにしています。
1-3．「仲良くなれた人がたまたま〇〇人だった」だけ
これは僕のメンターさんが教えてくださった言葉です。すごく本質的だと思います。同じ出身国でも仲良くなれない人はいますし、逆もまた然りです。国によって文化やコミュニケーションスタイルが違うので、初めは戸惑うこともありますが、そこを乗り越える前に「〇〇人はイヤだ」というのは違うなと思います。その理解には言語と文化を高いレベルで知る必要があり、まだまだ勉強することばかりです。
この Diversity Inclusion は東京大学を含め多くの団体が掲げているスローガンです。僕も最近考え初めましたが、このスローガンや「内集団・外集団」については、次の機会に書こうと思います。
1st thing that I Liked Best in YAP
1️⃣ Horizontal Expansion of my Cover Range
Through Campus Asia Program, I have made friends with Chinese and Korean people, which has given me the identity of "East Asian." In reality, however, it only included Japan, China, and South Korea.
After Joining YAP, the "territory" has expanded, including ASEAN Countries. Simply put, I have liked more countries.
Point: Arbitrarily Move between Abstract & Concrete. NOT Trapped by Where They are from.
As a person who wants to be a bridge between Japan and (especially) China, I try to remember the following things.
1-1. Know Individual Good-> Improve Whole Image of a Country
By getting to know certain people (classmates, people on the street, TV stars) I try to increase the number of people and diversify and like them. Visiting certain places will also help, which will necessarily involves meeting people, of course.
1-2. Know Individual Bad -> Never Let it Worsen Whole Image
Looking around, we are surrounded by bad news. It is said that "Negative is 6 times stronger than Positive," which means after you hear bad information about a country, you can only offset after hearing 6 pieces of good news.
I make it a rule to differentiate a foreign country and friends from there. For instance, it is sometimes reported that "Japan-China, Japan-South Korea relations are getting worse." It is of course something to think about and do something about.
But, I dare say, "So What? I Like My Friends!" The political downturn can never make me dislike them, and subsequently, the country in question.
1-3. I Made Friends with Him/Her, who HAPPENED to Come from Country A.
This is what my mentor taught me and inspired me a lot. It is quite essential, isn't it?
There should be people who you cannot make friends with even if they are from your country, and vice versa. Since making friends across national borders naturally entails language and cultural gaps, sometimes you might perplex or offend them, and be perplexed or offended by them. You have to understand their language and cultural context to a high extent.
In other words, you cannot say "I don't like the country" before you understand their culture.
I have a long way to go understand other countries.
"How Exciting it will be if I can truly Communicate with You!"
