Thank you for visiting and reading this note of mine.

I am writing this because I want more people to touch the heart of "Violet Evergarden" and Kyoto Animation.

I would be so happy if you love their works and are impressed by them and wish to cherish up someone special to you and try to convey your feelings and thoughts.

Good day to all.
And I am Kaeru (meaning Frog in Japanese).
This time is an otaku talk turn.
(Otaku means nerd or fanatic)
Ten days ago, I enthusiastically talked about "Violet Evergarden is finally on theatre."
And 18th of September, I watched it on the first day of its release in Japan.
I understand there are no needs for otaku's impressions for this movie, but after watching it, I thought "I want many adults and people who do not usually watch animations."
That is why I wanted to reach me through about this movie as many people as I could.
Of course, there are no spoilers.
Since there are no spoilers, the content I am going to write might be a little vague.
However, I hope that you will be interested in this movie in the next three sections which I will write below.
The catchphrase of this movie is "The last letter to the loved one."

Table of contents
I would like to recommend this movie to;
1-1.those who have children
1-2. those who do not know how great the voice actors' acting
1-3. those who have someone special in their life
2. Addendum

1-1. I would like to recommend this movie to those who have children

Children are so pretty, aren't they?
I have a daughter who is in junior high school.
Since I do not live with her, I regret not being able to watch my girl grow up, however, when I see her growing up every the time I see her, I think that child has a lot of potentials.
Also, when she is depressed or worried, I can't help but think, "Is there anything I can do, I can't tell, I can give you anything?"
(That is why I tend to have a word to her.)
In this work as well, many children will appear in each of the original novel, TV anime version, and theatrical version Gaiden.
The main character, Violet, appears in the age of 10 to 18 years old so that she experiences the "unknown world" from her young perspective and ignorant perspective, and feel emotions. Many stories describe her growth through her experiences.
I am going to write about it in the next chapter; there is a boy who is in the main story stream.
The boy who wears glasses and you can see in the trailer (The link is below).

The main story of the movie version consists of two storylines, the main character, Violet, and the story of this boy.
The boy's story is about a relationship between the boy and his family and friends.
What does the boy think about the relationships that surround him, and what does he deliver to them?
What do family members and friends tell him?
I want all "parents" who are raising children now to see this movie.

1-2. I would like to recommend the movie to those who do not know how great the voice actors' acting

Kaori Mizuhashi, who is a female voice actress, is a voice for the boy.
The famous role is Mami Tomoe from "Madoka Magica" and Ougi Oshino from "Bakemonogatari" etc.
I don't think people who don't watch anime will come to mind, but she is famous as a voice actress with high acting ability.

This time, she plays the role of the boy (most of the female voice actors play the boys before the voice change). I think that she acted "boy's peculiar cheekiness" and "a sensitive time when he can not convey his true feelings honestly" by playing with a slight trembling of voice and breathing.
Also, there is a setting peculiar to this boy that dramatically affects the story, but it is Mizuhasu (nicknamed Kaori Mizuhashi) that expresses that "unusual feeling" only by voice !!.
I cried just for that acting performance.
"Voice actors" also have various "individuality" and "strengths", such as "voice quality" like Nobuyo Oyama of the old Doraemon, and "variety" like Koichi Yamadera, who is famous for dubbing anime and Western movies.
While there are various qualities of a voice actor in one word, I think Kaori Mizuhashi stands out in terms of "acting ability".
I'm sure you'll be convinced if you watch it in the theatre, and I think it's worth watching this work to experience Mizuhashi's acting.

1-3. I would like to recommend this movie to those who have someone special

The other main story of the movie is about the relationship between the main character, Violet Evergarden, and the Army Major Gilbert Bougainvillea, whom she adores.
Violet and Gilbert have an underlying relationship between a commanding officer and soldier within the same land army.
After leaving the land army, Violet has started working as a writer who writes a letter for her clients called "auto memories doll (commonly known as a doll)".
In this movie, it shows us the ending of the story of Violet and Gilbert.
Therefore, the catchphrase of this movie is " The last letter to the loved one".
There are many meanings in "loved ones" as well.
To Lover, companion, family, friends, deceased person...
It makes you more intensely aware of the feelings of thinking about someone and the feelings of wanting to cherish them.
"Violet Evergarden the Movie" is such an animated masterpiece.
Japanimation is a unique culture that "although it is highly evaluated in worldwide, it is rarely recognised in Japan".
Although "otaku culture" has gained citizenship now in Japanese society, I think that there is still prejudice in certain age groups that "these kinds of nerd people who are always at home and watching animations".
(I think the activeness of otaku content these days is lightly superior to the outdoor enthusiasts)
I believe that "Violet Evergarden" is an animation that dispels those kinds prejudges.
My friend's mother was a person who has never seen anime before.
But she was heavily addicted to Violet Evergarden after watching "Violet Evergarden the Gaiden" which my friend recommended to her, and they went to see it together.
It seems that the more she went to see the movie version, bought goods and the original novels, and read them, the more the image of the animation was changed positively.
This is the animation that even adults can watch is "wonderful".
I think that is one of the enchantments of this work called "Violet Evergarden".
This time I tried to push it seriously.

I think it is a masterpiece work worth seeing in the theatre, so if you are interested, please visit the theatre.
It is a work that you will never regret going to see.
One last time, the catchphrase of the movie version is "The last letter to the loved one. "
That person I want to convey my feelings is only alive at this time.

Trailer

2. Addendum

On 9/19, I also watched the live viewing of the stage greetings.
Four people were on the stage
Yui Ishikawa as Violet
The role of Gilbert Daisuke Namikawa as Gilbert Bougainvillea
TRUE (Miho Karasawa) who continued to be in charge of the theme song of the movie from the TV version
Director Taichi Ishidate from Kyoto Animation

I will omit the content of the greeting, but when I saw Director Ishidate waving a tearful voice in the opening greeting, I fell in tears.
Also, I heard the sound of snorting from other viewers.
After the incident (Kyoto Animation arson attack occurred on the 18th of July 2018), I felt that everyone I had a passionate feeling about the work being completed and finally released.

I love Kyoto Animation.

If you read this my note, please be curious and reiterate that you want to see "Violet Evergarden" at the theatre.

If you have children, please watch it together.
Please watch it even if you have someone special.
I'm sure there will be some discoveries.
