英語日記#24 北海道の魅力について

おはようございます！
季節の変わり目でやはり風邪をひいたと思われます。夏が終わって大変寂しく思います。
溶けるようにダラダラしています。

 I think I caught a cold at the turn of the season.  I am very sad that summer is over.
 It's lazing like it's melting.

今日は、故郷である北海道の魅力について語りたいと思います。北海道は既に全国、全世界の中でも知名度の高いエリアだと思いますが、本当に魅力が多い街なので私の方でその魅力を咀嚼してお伝えしたいと思います。

Today, I would like to talk about the charm of my hometown, Hokkaido.  I think that Hokkaido is already a well-known area in Japan and even in the world, but since it is a city with many charms, I would like to assimilate its charms and convey them to you.


北海道全体としてのポテンシャルを３つご紹介したいと思います。
①人口密度が低い
広大な土地がある北海道は一人当たりの使える面積がめちゃくちゃ広いです。このアフターコロナにおいては最強の土地だと思っています。都心部での生活に辟易している人が過ごすには最高の場所だと思います。中には札幌のような密度が高い街もあり、そのバランスとしては絶妙だと思っております。

I would like to introduce three potentials of Hokkaido as a whole.
 (1) Low population density
 Hokkaido, which has vast land, has a very large area that can be used per person.  I think it's the strongest land in this after corona.  I think it's the best place for people who are tired of living in the city center.  Some of the cities have a high density like Sapporo, and I think the balance is perfect.

②天然資源が豊富
北海道は海の幸、農業、果物、林業、自然など、天然資源がとにかく豊富です。この本質的価値は日本のどのエリアよりも優れており、食材一つとってもブランディングされて高く売ることができます。
この価値は、今後もなかなか変えることができない価値であり、北海道の最大の武器とも言えます。今後、カーボンニュートラルな社会が進めば、生産から消費までの距離が短くなり、北海道の食材を食べるには北海道に来ることでしか味わえなくなった時、多くの人が更に北海道を訪れるのではないかと思っています。

② Abundant natural resources
 Hokkaido is rich in natural resources such as seafood, agriculture, fruits, forestry and nature.  This intrinsic value is superior to any other area in Japan, and even one ingredient can be branded and sold at a high price.
 This value is a value that cannot be easily changed in the future, and can be said to be Hokkaido's greatest weapon.  In the future, if a carbon-neutral society progresses, the distance from production to consumption will shorten, and when the only way to eat Hokkaido ingredients is to come to Hokkaido, many people will visit Hokkaido. I am thinking.

③おおらかな人間性
とにかくおおらかな人が多いです。私もですが、あまり怒ったりしません。できれば協調して仲良くやりたいと思っています。時にはそれが甘えと言われるかもしれませんが、なぜか北海道の人はのんびりしています。待ち合わせに30分くらい遅れてくることもよくあります。
私はそれに対してそこまで怒ったりしません。
この人間性が安心感に繋がり、人のコミュニケーションを活発化してくれていると思います。
特に都会のビジネスマンには、頑張らなくていいんだとほっとさせてくれる人と出会えると思います。

③Generous humanity
 Anyway, there are a lot of easy-going people.  Me too, but I don't get too angry.  If possible, I would like to cooperate and get along well.  People sometimes say that they are spoiled, but for some reason the people of Hokkaido are laid-back.  I often arrive 30 minutes late for appointments.
 I'm not that angry about it.
 I think that this human nature leads to a sense of security and activates human communication.
 Especially for urban business people, I think you can meet someone who makes you feel relieved that you don't have to work hard.
