しかし、【主】が、群れの世話をしていたところから私を取り、【主】が私にこう言われた。『行って、わたしの民イスラエルに預言せよ』と。

アモスは、いちじく桑の木を栽培する一農夫でしかありませんでした。預言者や祭司の家系でもなく、神学校で学んだこともありませんでした。でも、神様は、往々にして、そんな人たちを大きく用いるのです。エリヤしかり、エリシャしかり、19世紀の大伝道者ムーディしかり、そして、その人たちは神様の使命を全うしうる賜物をも備えられていたのです。

　今日も、主が備えられた賜物に気が付くことができますように・・・。

Then the Lord took me as I followed the flock, And the Lord said to me, 'Go, prophesy to My people Israel.'

Amos was only a farmer who cultivated sycamore trees. He did not come from a family of prophets or priests, and he had never studied in a seminary. But God often makes great use of such people. Elijah, Elisha, and Moody, the great evangelist of the 19th century, were also equipped with gifts that enabled them to fulfill God's mission.

　May we be aware of the gifts that the Lord has prepared for us today.
