『これらのことを話してから、イエスは弟子たちとともに、キデロンの谷の向こうに出て行かれた。そこには園があり、イエスと弟子たちは中に入られた。』

　木曜日の夕方、伝承ではありますが、マルコの母マリヤの家の二階座敷で最後の晩餐が執り行われました。その夜、八時か九時ごろにケデロンの谷とオリーブ山のふもとの間にあるゲッセマネの園にイエス様は行かれました。そこで、『マタ26:39「わが父よ。わたしが飲まなければこの杯が過ぎ去らないのであれば、あなたのみこころがなりますように」と祈られた。』、まさに、苦悶の祈りでした。

　今日も、ゲッセマネの祈りに思いを巡らすことができますように・・・。

「When Jesus had spoken these words, He went out with His disciples over the Brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which He and His disciples entered.」

　On Thursday evening, as tradition has it, the Last Supper was held in the upstairs sitting room of the house of Mary, Mark's mother. That evening, about eight or nine o'clock, Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane, which is between the Valley of Kidron and the foot of the Mount of Olives. There He said, (Mattew. 26:39) "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will." It was truly a prayer of anguish.

　May we ponder the Gethsemane prayer today....
