『声をあげて　私は【主】に叫びます。
　声をあげて　私は【主】にあわれみを乞います。』

【詩篇　142:1】

　表題には、「ダビデのマスキール。ダビデが洞窟にいた時に。祈り」と書かれてあります。「マスキール」とは、意味不明なのですが、「教訓詩」との説もあります。この時、ダビデはサウル王に追われて、アドラムの洞窟やエン・ゲディの要害に身を隠していました。追うのは一国の王様、逃げるのは一介の青年、ダビデは身の縮む思いをしたことでしょう。命の危険を何度も味わったことでしょう。大声で祈ることしかなかったのです。

　今日も、主に真実な祈りができますように・・・。

「I cry out to the Lord with my voice;
　With my voice to the Lord I make my supplication.」

【Psalms 142:1】

　The title reads, "Maschil of David. A prayer when David was in the cave." The meaning of "Maschil" is unclear, but it is believed to be a "Didactic Psalm" or "Instructive Psalm". At this time, David was being pursued by King Saul and he sought refuge in the caves of Adullam and the strongholds of En Gedi. David, a young man fleeing from a king, must have felt a great fear and experienced the imminent danger to his life. All he could do was pray aloud.
