『高慢は破滅に先立ち、
　高ぶった霊は挫折に先立つ。』

【箴言　16:18】

　人の高慢や高ぶりは手に取るように分かっても、自分の高慢や高ぶりには気付かないものです。いや、見ようとしないのかも知れません。しかし、そのまま放置していたら、破滅や挫折に繋がるというのです。聖書には、神は高ぶる者を退け、へりくだる者を恵む、と数多く書かれています。　
(マタ11:29) 「わたしは心が柔和でへりくだっているから、あなたがたもわたしのくびきを負って、わたしから学びなさい。そうすれば、たましいに安らぎを得ます。」

　今日も、安らぐ一日となりますように・・・。　

「Pride goes before destruction,
　And a haughty spirit before a fall.」

【Proverbs 16:18】

　We may know the pride and exuberance of others in our hands, but we are not aware of our own pride and exuberance. Or perhaps we don't even try to see it. But if left unchecked, they will lead to ruin and frustration. The Bible is replete with references to God's rejection of the proud and blessing of the humble.　(Mattew. 11:29) "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
