主を恐れる者と御恵みを待ち望む者とを【主】は好まれる。
これは、バビロン捕囚から戻ってきたイスラエルの人々がエルサレム神殿の再建にとりかかった頃の歌であろうと言われています。異境の国、異郷の地、異教の中で耐え忍ばなければならないことが多々あったことだと思います。その中でやはり頼らなければならなかったのは、創造主なる唯一の神様だったのです。また、そういう人々を神様はこよなく愛されたのです。
今日も、主の愛に包まれますように・・・。

The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, In those who hope in His mercy.
This is said to be a song from the time when the Israelites returned from the Babylonian captivity and began to rebuild the Jerusalem Temple. There must have been many things they had to endure in a foreign land, in a foreign country, and in a foreign religion. The only one they had to rely on in such a situation was still God, the Creator. God also loved those people very much.
