2022.5.26《今日の聖書》ピリピ人への手紙

私は、その二つのことの間で板ばさみとなっています。私の願いは、世を去ってキリストとともにいることです。そのほうが、はるかに望ましいのです。

　使徒パウロにとって生きることはキリストであり、また、死ぬことはもっとキリストなのです。パウロの気持ちは、早く世を去ってキリストと共に過ごしたいのですが、この世にあっては肉体によるキリストのための働きもしなければならず、板挟みとなっているというのです。
 
　今日も、主と共に歩むことができますように・・・。

 For I am hard pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.

【Phi 1:23／NKJV】

For the apostle Paul, living meant living for Christ, and dying meant dying for Him. Paul wanted to die early and to spend time with Christ, but in this world he must continue to live and work for Him. He said that he was torn between two desires.
