2023.1.19《今日の聖書》詩篇

『貧しい者は決して忘れられることがなく
苦しむ者の望みは永遠に失せることがない。』

【詩9:18】

逆に言うと、「忘れられる」「望みが失せる」ということは、耐えがたい経験なのです。特に、貧困と苦難の環境の中にいる人にとっては、辛く恐ろしいものに感じることでしょう。でも、そんな中にあったとしても、「忘れられる」ことなく、「望みが失せる」こともない道が私たちには備えられているのです。悔い改めて、神の元へ駆け込むことなのです。そこには、決して見捨てることもなく、永遠の命の望みを与えてくださる神様が待っていらっしゃるのです。

今日も、主に望みを置くことができますように・・・。

「For the needy shall not always be forgotten; The expectation of the poor shall not perish forever.」

【Psa 9:18】

Conversely, being "forgotten" or "losing hope" is an unbearable experience. It can be especially painful and frightening for those in the poverty and hardship. But there is a way for us to be neither "forgotten" nor "lose hope" in such times. That way is to repent and run to God. There, God is waiting to give us the hope of eternal life, and He will never abandon us.

May we put our hope in Him today as well.
