『イエスは大声で叫ばれた。「父よ、わたしの霊をあなたの御手にゆだねます。」こう言って、息を引き取られた。』

　（ルカ23:46）【新改訳2017】

　茨の冠をかぶせられたイエス様は、ピラトの法廷からゴルゴダの丘へ引き立てられ、そこで十字架につけられました。イエス様が息を引き取られた時に、天は三時間にわたって暗黒となり、神殿の幕が真っ二つに裂けました。それは、イエス様の死によって人が神様との交わりを回復する道が開かれたことを示すものでもありました。金曜日の午後の出来事でした。

　今日も、イエス様の十字架が私たちの為であったことを覚えることができますように・・・。

「And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, "Father, 'into Your hands I commit My spirit.' " Having said this, He breathed His last.」

　Jesus, crowned with a crown of thorns, was led from Pilate's court to the hill of Golgotha, where He was crucified. When Jesus drew His last breath, the heavens were darkened for three hours and the curtain of the temple was torn in two. It was also a sign that Jesus' death had opened the way for man to be restored to fellowship with God. It happened on a Friday afternoon.

　May we remember today that Jesus' cross was for us....
