心の貧しい者は幸いです。天の御国はその人たちのものだからです。
山上の垂訓の一節です。「心の貧しい者」「悲しむ者」「迫害されている者」は幸いだと説いています。何だか逆説的な感じがしますが、そういう人の所にこそ、イエス様は来てくださるのです。それは、今の暗い世界がイエス様の新しい光によって、新しい世界がもたらされるということなのです。
今日も、主の光に照らされますように・・・。

Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
This is a passage from the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus said “God blesses the poor in spirit, those who mourn, and the persecuted." It sounds paradoxical, but Jesus comes to such people. It means that the new light of Jesus will turn this dark world to the new world.
May the light of the Lord illuminate you today as well.
