わたしはあなたがたに平安を残します。わたしの平安を与えます。わたしは、世が与えるのと同じようには与えません。あなたがたは心を騒がせてはなりません。ひるんではなりません。

【ヨハ14:27／新改訳2017】

　平安は、確信に満ちた安心感である。それは、どんな状況の中にあっても、揺るがないものです。たとえ、苦境の中にあっても、病苦の中にあっても、召天の前であっても、安心を持つことなのです。その安心感を与えるので、心を騒がせる必要はないし、ひるむことはないというのです。天国の平安がこの地上でも味わえるのです。

　今日も、主の平安の中で過ごせますように・・・。

Peace is a feeling of certainty and security. It is unshakable, no matter what the circumstances. It is having peace of mind even if we are in the midst of a predicament, in the throes of illness, or before our vocation. He gives us that assurance so that we don't have to fret or flinch. We can be in the peace of heaven even here on earth.
