その日はユダヤ人の備え日であり、その墓が近かったので、彼らはそこにイエスを納めた。
イエス様が十字架上で死なれたのが、金曜日の午後3時頃でした。金曜日の日没から安息日が始まります。「彼ら」は、アリマタヤのヨセフとニコデモでした。彼らは、イエス様をゴルゴダの丘の西側の新しい墓に手厚く葬ったのです。「死」という絶望から、やがて「復活」という希望が顕れるのです。
今日も、主の希望を見出すことができますように・・・。

So there they laid Jesus, because of the Jews' Preparation Day, for the tomb was nearby.
It was around 3 pm on Friday that Jesus died on the cross. The Sabbath begins at sunset on Friday. "They" were Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus. They courteously buried Jesus in a new tomb on the west side of the hill of Golgotha. From the despair of "death", the hope of "revival" will soon come.
May we find the Lord's Hope today as well.
