『するとイエスは言われた。「カエサルのものはカエサルに、神のものは神に返しなさい。」彼らはイエスのことばに驚嘆した。』

　宮における最後の一日となった火曜日、この日は、イエス様は、自分に敵対する者たちたちや民衆や弟子たちとの問答に終始していました。今日の聖句は、その中の一節なのです。カエサルに税金を納めることは律法にかなっているかどうかの質問にイエス様が答えたのです。でも、その頃、大祭司や長老たちはイエス様を捕らえる策略を密かに練っていたのです。

　今日も、イエス様のみ言葉に耳を傾けることができますように・・・。

「And Jesus answered and said to them, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." And they marveled at Him.」

【Mar 12:17／NKJV】

On Tuesday, the last day at the Temple, Jesus held a long discussion with his opponents, the people, and his disciples. Today's verse is a passage in it. Jesus answered the question of whether it was legal to pay taxes to Caesar. At that same time the leading priests and elders were plotting how to capture Jesus secretly.
