シカゴにて30年ぶりに旧友に会う

私は今(平成27年(2015年)5月26日)、国際会議のためシカゴに来ています。 今日の昼休みに、博士課程の古い日本人の友人に会いました。 私の友人である溝渕義一博士は、アメリカのシカゴ近郊の町に30年以上住んでいます。 彼は、アメリカ人の妻と一緒に、国際会議会場のホテルのヒルトン・シカゴに、私に会いに来てくれました。 私たちは約30年間一度も会っていません。 私たちは一緒に昼食をとり、3人の共通言語である英語で、自分たちの人生や家族について、たくさん語り合いました。 私たちは会話をとても楽しみました。 中国語の諺、「朋有り遠方より来る、亦た楽しからずや」、 本当にそうです。

In Chicago, I met my old friend for the first time in 30 years
 
I am now(May 26, 2015) in Chicago for an international conference. Today, in the lunch time, I met my old Japanese friend in my doctor course. My friend, Dr. Yoshikazu Mizobuchi, lives in a town near Chicago, USA over 30 years. He came to the conference hotel, Hilton Chicago, with his American wife to see me. We have never met for about 30 years. We took lunch together and talked a lot about our life and families, in English as our common language among three. We enjoyed our conversation very much. In Chinese words, it is a great pleasure that an old friend comes to see me. It’s really true.
