[ Postscript of shooting ]

I have always wanted to take photos like European movies. Feel of the old films. And the model who can be an actress in my photos. And finally, I found her. She looked especially outstanding for me. She is Ukrainian and her name is Agata.

The mood of classical studio was perfect for her. Actually, there was an actress.

When I got the studio, I heard Agata-chan talking in English with the lady hosting the photo session. So I decided, ``Oh, it would be better to speak English instead of Japanese.''

Before shooting, I asked her "日本語は話せますか？" and she answered "少しだけ". OK, let's go. No problem. I will try.

Almost Japanese are too much afraid of English grammar mistake. Of course, including me. But what is the most important thing when we talk with people from other countries? Using the correct grammar? Speaking fluently?

Maybe both are not so important. In the first place, we have learned English at least 6 years over. We have already known many English words. Even if there are strong Japanese accent and grammar mistakes, I'm sure they will try to understand what we are saying.

◆撮影後記

というわけで、アガタちゃんに読んでもらえるかどうかはわからないけど、英語の撮影後記を書いてみた。

スタジオ撮影は苦手だけど、たまたま同枠の撮影者がいなかったのでスタジオを自由に使うことができた。そのことでモデルのポテンシャルが最大限に引き出されたと感じている。

帰り際、主催者兼モデルの女性から「英語お話できるんですね。海外経験あるんですか？」というようなことを尋ねられた。おぼつかない英語だったけど、自信無さげな立ち振る舞いだけはしないよう意識してたからかな。結局は意識の持ち方次第で、周囲からは「それなり」に見えたりするのだろう。

実は次回はその主催者兼モデルの方を撮影予定。彼女は日本人だけど、他にも外国籍のモデルが多数在籍しており、これから利用機会が増えていくと思う。
