How To Make 3D Waffle For Cluster.
Today, I’d like to explain how to put 3D-scanned food that is difficult to make from scratch into the Cluster world.
As you know, the LiDAR 3D Scanner is expensive but you don’t have to use this tool.
You can use your device, such as an iPhone8Plus/Android OS9 or later devices.
The app is free to download.
So, I say ‘3D-scanned food’ but what I actually mean by that is “photogrammetry”.
You use WiDAR for this.
Download WiDAR.
You start by taking pictures from every viewpoint: looking down, looking up, looking parallel etc.
It might be easier to put the food on a chair.
After you have taken hundreds of photos, you can send them to The Cloud and wait for the 3D data to process.
Now that the model has been generated, you will notice that the plate under the food has also been rendered.
Be careful not to shake the camera while taking photos, this could lead to problems with the processing as the image isn’t clear enough and will mean that you have to repeat the whole process again.
Make It For The Game Models.
If you don’t wish to use the original plate, there’s an option for you to remove it by using the crop function, as you can see below.
The data’s size is still large, so you have to make it smaller.
Careful not to break your mesh.
You don’t have to change the texture because you can change it later in Unity.
The texture of the world is quite cartoonish in style which is the desired look as I prefer a more vivid look as opposed to a realistic style.
Change Vivid scale from TexMod.
Push the paper airplane symbol in the upper right corner to download it to Unity as OBJ.
Finally, you can upload it to Cluster.
There is still the issue of the food not having a bottom surface but that’s okay as you can use a plate.
In my opinion, I think making a plate by the photogrammetric 3D model is a waste of data.
Save your data to make a plate from scratch instead of using a photogrammetric one.

I made a menu so that you can choose what food you would like and when you take a seat, your chosen food will arrive instantaneously for you to see.
