There are two cats in my home. One of them is sixteen years, and the other one is fifteen years old. We had lived together in Sapporo until five years ago, but actually for the next three years we had lived apart because Ichito and I moved to Kanagawa. For those three years two cats had been kept by a wonderful family who had rented my house in Sapporo and had taken very good care of them. Just two years ago, I was finally able to pick them up and  bring them to live with us in Kamakura. Two years have passed in the blink of an eye since then, but I am glad to see that they are both in good health as ever.

En mi casa hay dos gatos. Uno de ellos tiene dieciséis años y el otro quince. Habíamos vivido juntos en Sapporo hasta hace cinco años, pero en realidad durante los tres años siguientes habíamos vivido separados porque Ichito y yo nos trasladamos a Kanagawa. Durante esos tres años, una familia maravillosa que había alquilado mi casa en Sapporo se había quedado con los dos gatos y los había cuidado muy bien. Hace apenas dos años, pude por fin recogerlos y traerlos a vivir con nosotros a Kamakura. Han pasado dos años en un abrir y cerrar de ojos desde entonces, pero me alegra ver que ambos gozan salud como siempre.
