英語日記 2023/05/11 (THU)　アニメ「ブルーロック」第1話感想

I don't really like traveling, so I haven't been abroad, and I don't have much experience traveling around Japan.

Speaking 3 language is so great! It would be nice if you could use your skills, but I can't come up with any ideas because I can speak only Japanese...

I tend not to watch popular Anime, but I recently watched "Blue Rock". Do you know it? It's a title has theme of soccer. Blue Rock has interesting scenario that 300 high school students gather soccer training camp and they have to compete to become the number one player. Titles have theme of sports usually tell us importance of friendship, but it's insists on the importance of the ego. I watched the first episode only, but I want to watch other episodes. At the end of the first episode, the protagonist hits a soccer ball at a kind friend's face.

今回は、以前の日記（流行りのアニメ「ブルーロック」に触れてみたい(2023/04/23)）に書いたブルーロックを観たので、その感想を中心に書いてみました。

短い文の中に冠詞（a/an/the）抜けが5つも……。気を付けたつもりで書いたつもりではあるのですが、日本語には無いのでつい抜けてしまいます。この英語日記は1回150単語までというルールがあり、ついぎりぎりまで書いてしまうのですが、130単語くらいに留めて、冠詞抜けを探すと良い塩梅になるのかも？

今回のピックアップセンテンス

このthatは 関係代名詞 のようです。こちらのサイト（METROPOLITAN ACADEMY OF ENGLISH）を参考にさせていただいたところ、どうやら主格を表すthat （「先行詞(a title) + 関係代名詞that + 動詞(has)」）のようだと分かりました。

よくよく見ると、以下のセンテンスも同じようです。難しい～、これはthatが無くても良さそうなものですが……。

このwhereってなんだっけ……と思い、調べたところ、どうやら関係副詞のようです。しかし、「関係副詞 where」で調べてみると、先行詞は場所のものばかりが出てきます。「先行詞scenarioにwhere？どうして！？」 と思ってさらに進めてみたところ、こちらのサイトを読んで納得しました。

ここまで見てきたように、「前置詞＋関係代名詞」を1語にしたものが関係副詞と考えて支障ありません。
場所が先行詞だから関係副詞whereを使うのではなく、「前置詞＋関係代名詞」の構造を内在しているから関係副詞に書き換えることができる、ことになります。ですので、場所以外を表す語も先行詞にすることが可能です。

なるほど。場所以外にも使うんですね！　確かに、ピックアップセンテンスでは300人の学生がサッカー合宿に集まっているのですが、それはシナリオの中のことなので、in whichに置き換えられそうです。

関係代名詞と関係副詞って日本語に無いので、何となくノリで使ってしまうのですが、今回改めて調べてみて理解が深まった気がします。自分の頭からそれがスラスラ出てくるよう、引き続き英文を書いていこうと思います。
