名庭、「天授庵」の妙味なる風景。【南禅寺Ⅲ】 A wonderful landscape of the famous garden, "Tenjyuan".

京都 南禅寺塔頭の「天授庵」は紅葉の名所として知られている。
その書院南庭には杉や楓、そして椛などが池泉(ちせん)を覆い、秋には水面が紅葉で染まり幽玄の世界を見せる。また晩春、初夏にかけては深緑が静寂の世界へ誘ってくれる。一年通し、庭園風景が楽しめるお寺はそう多くはない。さらに、方丈東庭には菱形の畳石が禅寺特有の枯山水の庭があり、南禅寺同様、小堀遠州が作庭にかかわったとされている。

"Tenjyu-an" at the branch of Nanzen-ji Temple in Kyoto is known as a famous place for autumn colors.
In the south garden of the Shoin, cedars, maples, and palms cover the pond spring, and in the fall, the surface of the water is colored with autumn leaves to show the world of imagination. In late spring and early summer, deep greenery invites you to the world of silence. There are not many temples where you can enjoy garden scenery all year round. In addition, there is a garden of Karesansui, which is a peculiar to Zen temple, and has a rhombic tatami stone in the Hojo eastern garden.

杉や楓、そして椛などが池泉(ちせん)を覆う /  the Shoin, cedars, maples, and palms cover the pond spring

方丈内部には、長谷川等伯(はせがわとうはく)の障壁画(複製)がある。そのひとつが、禅の悟りの境地を表現した「禅宗祖師図(ぜんしゅうそしず)」で、いまひとつが、中国秦時代の末に商山の山中に隠棲した高官たちがロバに乗る姿を描いた「商山四皓図（しょうざんしこうず）」の襖絵がある。これらも、見応えのあり、天授庵ならではの庭園と絵画が堪能できる。

Inside the Hojo is a barrier painting (reproduction) by Tohaku Hasegawa. One of these is the Zen Buddhist image, which depicts the state of Zen enlightenment, and another is a figure of high-ranking officials who hide in the mountains of the Mt.Shozan at the end of the Qin era of China and ride on donkeys. There is also a fusuma picture of "Shouzan Shikouzu". These are also spectacular, and you can enjoy the garden and paintings that are unique to Tenjyu-an.

筆者が訪ねた折は、雨の雫が青々とした葉から滴り落ち、池泉に雨音が響いていた。

When I visited, raindrops dripped from the lush leaves, and the sound of rain was echoing on the pond.
