Autumn is the Season for Eating. - Sep. 20, 2023

Today, I helped my dad with his deliveries and drove to the bakery to supply them with coffee. This is a customary activity when I'm back home for a visit. I absolutely adore the cream puffs from that bakery, and back in high school, whenever something good happened, I would always stop by after school to grab one.

Coincidentally, it's a shop run by my dad's friend, so whenever my dad arranges for a delivery to that bakery, he always makes sure to give me a shout if I'm in town.

Usually, it's a cream puff filled with custard cream, but today, it was a cream puff filled with rich chocolate cream based on the pastrey chef's mood of the day. It was absolutely delicious. The seasonal cakes like the fig tart and the Japanese chestnut Mont Blanc were also delightful.

Although it's been scorching hot during the day, today was one of those days where I could somehow sense the arrival of autumn.
