The Reason Not To Gain Exercise Performance By Ketogenic Diet?
True that ketogenic diet prevents running out energy?
There have been a theories saying that <Ketone bodies will elevate exercise performance!> and before my favorite professional soccer player named, Nagatomo used to this method so strictly.

As you know Ketone will be produced in the liver after fat burning. When our body lacks glucose, it will be alternative energy source.
Why Mr. Nagatomo claimed to use of ketone so much because it is said carbohydrate does not have enough amount of storage for our body.
Basically, carbohydrate is stocked in muscle and liver and its amount is about 400g. So if you are elite athletes like soccer player or endurance performers such as, long-distance runner or walker, will run out it easily.
On the other hand, fat has great storage so if you use it wisely and efficiently for energy you don’t worry for fuel losses even you are high energy expended user. Could be fair enough to rational theory... however, how about for the reality?
Research was conducted for whether ketone is useful and efficient in athletes?

There was from Australian Catholic University, they researched “What will happen if an athletes changed their body composition to ketogenic?”
Participants were 21 elite athletes of high spaced walkers they had been already competed in olympics or nominated to the next one.
They were divided three groups and an experiment duration was 3 weeks.
* <High carbohydrate> group
They took...
Carbohydrate : 60 to 65%
Protein : 15 to 20%
Fat : 20%
* <Periodized carbohydrate> group
They took the same rates of three major nutrients with high carb group but the difference was when they took carb accordingly with many suggestions from some involvements. For example, they took carb only after exercise on Monday and Tuesday, but Wednesday, they took carb at pre and post exercise. Something like that. There had been many elite athletes taken this method for their diet.
* <Ketone> group
They took...
Carbohydrate : < 50g/d
Protein : 15 to 20%
Fat : 75 to 80%
A training menu was no difference to all groups with no doubt.
It did i not show significant increase in performance even improving energy efficiency
They researched athletes’s performance and fat burning level at post treatments...
* All groups had the same results hit VO2max improvement meaning, they improved cardiopulmonary function
* Ketone group increased their fat burning capacity
* In a competitive 10km walking, high carb and periodized groups improved their best time to finish(improvements were 6.6% and 5.3%, respectively) but not to ketone group.
* Ketone group increased maximal oxygen uptake in a racing, but other groups decreased.
* Ketone group measured their subjective fatigue increased.
According to the results above, ketone group improved even their cardiopulmonary function but performance didn’t come up with it moreover, it did decrease. Let’s say even car engine performance improves but its gas mileage got worse.
The reason ketone made athletes’s performance down
