『触媒』となる事が、コンペティションの意義

実は、ウイスキートークのフェスボトル(オリジナルボトル)2本を初出品しておりました！

昨年3月にスタートした『東京ウイスキー&スピリッツコンペティション(TWSC)』は、本来今年も3月の開催予定でしたが、ご承知の状況により5月に延期、更にリモート審査という形に。
そしてその結果が、本日(6/18)ホームページ上で遂に公開！
なんと、ウイスキートークの主柱シリーズの2019リリース２本とも、金賞の栄誉に浴することが出来ました！

Actually, I exhibited two Whisky talk festival bottles (original bottles) for the first time!

The "Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition (TWSC)," which started in March of last year, was originally scheduled to be held in March of this year, but it was postponed to May depending on the circumstances, and it will be further remote-checked.
And the result is finally published on the website today on June 18!
I was able to enjoy the gold medal with both 2019 releases of the main pillar series of Whisky Talk!

ご提供いただいた蒸溜所各位はもちろん、それぞれのお立場でウイスキートークに参加していただいた皆様方との温かい繋がりがあってこその受賞。
心より感謝申し上げます。

スコッチやジンなど、大まかな区分以外は全てシークレットかつブラインドでの試飲というところが大前提のコンペ。
年に一度、一切の先入観なしに数多のスピリッツに向き合う行為は(私も審査員でした)、業界の健全な発展に不可欠とも思われます。

また、結果に対する意見は様々であるのが当然。
「納得」と「意外」が入り混じります。
賛否両論が、シーンを動かしていく原動力となっていくことこそが開催の意義だと思っています。

The award was made possible not only by the distillers who provided us, but also by the warm connections with everyone who participated in the Whisky Talk.

Except for rough categories such as scotch and gin, all competitions are secret and blind tasting.
Once a year, and without any prejudice, dealing with numerous spirits (I was also a judge) seems to be essential for the healthy development of the industry.

Also, it is natural that there are various opinions about the results.
"Convinced" and "unexpected" are mixed.
I think the significance of the event is that pros and cons will be the driving force that moves the scene.
